Somewhere in San Diego is the sequel to Somewhere in the Shallow Sea and it certainly did not disappoint! Dennis Macaraeg was kind enough to send me a copy (see my review for Somewhere in the Shallow Sea here) and although I thought the first novel made a good standalone, I am so glad he decided to continue Danny’s story.
Somewhere in San Diego follows Danny as he tries to meet with his friend Blake Mason to upload the data demanded as ransom in order to save Blake’s fiancee. The book is honestly worth picking up just for the cover, it’s amazing (and will definitely prompt stunning Bookstagram photos!) This novel is a fast-paced and action-packed ride that you won’t want to get off!
Once again I found myself incredibly impressed with Macaraeg’s ability to use imagery, he really manages to transport the reader into the heart of the story. There is no time to become bored whilst reading this book, the reader is propelled into the action from the very first sentence.
If you’re looking for an action packed holiday read then I definitely recommend picking this one up!
I give Dennis Macaraeg’s Somewhere in San Diego 4 out of 5 stars.
